* Through the process of aligning 2021 retailer figures with those of the 2019 emissions study, UMAS identified a filtering error that was carried forward to 2019’s final report. Specifically, emissions were overcounted in instances where more than one voyage was allocated to a U.S. cargo import, a result which left retailer emission estimates inflated in comparison with the stated methodology.
