アマゾンは、2030年までに全貨物の半分をカーボンニュートラルにするという計画を静かに破棄した。
2023年5月30日 - アマゾンの広報担当者はFast Companyに対し、今回の変更は、同社が以前の社内目標に向けてまだ取り組んでいないことを意味するものと取るべきではない、と述べた。アマゾンの広報担当者は、「当社の事業の脱炭素化に向けた取り組みは何も変わっていません」と述べています。この方針転換を最初に発見したCenter for Investigative Reportingのウィル・エヴァンス記者は、アマゾンに、会社が目標を達成できないから公約を削除したのかと尋ねたところ、そのような事実はないと言われた。しかし、もし同社が目標達成の見込みがあるのなら、それを公に祝おうとしない理由は明らかではない。
